Recent events around the world have taught us how vulnerable we all are to natural disasters and to man-made ones.

 

In spite of our most careful precautions, it's possible that one of our companions can become lost. And if our own companions are safe, we might encounter others who are not — who are lost or who are victims of abuse.

 

When an emergency happens, it can be too late to learn how to take effective action to help. The best time to learn is now, beforehand.
